Who Are The Chosen Ones? (Many are Called but few are Chosen)

10 Clear Signs You’re Set Apart By God

Have you ever felt different from others — like you don’t quite fit in, no matter how hard you try? Maybe you sense a deeper purpose, or your life seems unusually hard compared to those around you. You might be one of God’s chosen ones.

The Bible talks about a “chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people” (1 Peter 2:9). This means God has handpicked certain people for unique assignments, blessings, and also battles.

In this article, we’ll explore who the chosen ones are, plus give you 10 powerful signs that you might be one of them.

Who Are The Chosen Ones?

Simply put, the chosen ones are people whom God has set apart for a divine purpose. They are marked by His favor, often go through intense tests, and carry a spiritual authority that the enemy tries to oppose.

Being chosen doesn’t always mean life will be easy. In fact, it often means the opposite. God allows certain trials to refine, prepare, and humble His chosen people so they can fulfill their destiny.

10 Signs You Might Be One Of The Chosen Ones

1. You Never Fit In

From childhood, you felt out of place. Even in family gatherings or friendships, something about you stands apart. You might struggle with loneliness or feel misunderstood, but this is often God’s way of keeping you from blending in with the world.

2. You’ve Survived Things Others Wouldn’t

Maybe you faced near-death experiences, serious illnesses, betrayals, or accidents that should have destroyed you. Yet somehow, you’re still here. God preserved you because your assignment isn’t finished.

3. You Experience Intense Spiritual Attacks

The enemy knows you’re dangerous to his kingdom. So you face repeated spiritual battles, strange attacks in dreams, or warfare that seems disproportionate to your life situation.

4. You’re Drawn To The Things Of God

Even when you tried to run from God or indulge in sin, you couldn’t stay there. Something inside kept pulling you back. You feel uncomfortable in sinful environments and long for a deeper relationship with God.

5. You Have A Deep Compassion For Others

Chosen ones often carry a strong burden for the hurting, the lost, or the oppressed. Your heart breaks easily over injustice, and you often find yourself praying for others even in your private time.

6. You See Or Discern Things Others Don’t

God may give you dreams, visions, or a sensitivity to the spiritual realm. You discern deception quickly, and sometimes you just “know” things without natural explanation.

7. Doors Open For You In Unusual Ways

Even if you struggle financially or physically, there are moments God opens doors that no one can shut. Opportunities appear that make no human sense — it’s God’s favor marking you for His plans.

8. You Experience Repeated Delays Before Breakthrough

Many chosen ones face long seasons of waiting. Joseph waited years and years in prison before stepping into his calling. David was anointed king long before he actually took over the throne. Delay refines character.

9. Your Presence Bothers The Wrong People

Some people dislike you without cause. Your light irritates their darkness. They may gossip, oppose, or try to sabotage you — not realizing it’s the spiritual tension between the kingdom of light and darkness.

No matter how many times you’re knocked down, you rise again. God’s grace strengthens you beyond what’s normal. People wonder how you’re still standing, but it’s because you’re chosen and covered.

Why Does God Choose Certain People?

It’s not about being better than others. God chooses whom He wills — often the overlooked, rejected, or broken (1 Corinthians 1:27-29). He delights in taking what the world calls weak or foolish to confound the wise.

Your life isn’t random. If you see these signs, it’s likely because God has set you apart for a special purpose — to reflect His glory, carry His message, and advance His Kingdom on earth.

Final Thoughts: Embrace Who You Are

Being one of God’s chosen isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it. Stay close to Him. Let the trials purify you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who also was “despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief.” (Isaiah 53:3)

He understands your journey and will finish what He started in you.

God reveals in order to redeem

The enemy you know is less persuasive than the enemy you don’t know. In most cases, God displays himself to us in dreams or in visions. So whenever God discloses it to you. He is warning you to take a step and to act upon what he revealed. One thing you should perceive is that your enemy is not your neighbor, sister, colleagues, etc. We only have one enemy, which is the devil. Satan is very manipulative and if you aren’t prayerful enough, you’ll end up falling in to his traps. The day you’ll understand, you’ll avoid despising them.

Warning from God: Take your calling very seriously!!!

Imagine the consequences if Jesus Christ had not embraced the mission on earth that he was given by the father (John 6:38). Imagine what could have happened to millions of souls. Consider what could have happened to the Israelites if Moses had never taken his calling seriously when God called him to deliver the Israelites from Egypt (Exodus 3:10).  God has invested something in you, and it takes you to pray and discover what he has invested in you. Some of you God gave you the anointing of healing, but you aren’t even aware. Millions of souls are lost out there, and this situation requires you and me to take our calling very seriously. So many people are dying in hospitals from cancer, diabetes, and other diseases, while you are ignoring doing the will of the father, and you expect things to go well with you. Certainly, not everyone is destined for the same path, as God has assigned us various missions and duties. The key here is to discover your true identity. When you don't take ...

Wait upon the LORD

Life resembles a route. Additionally, there will be stop signs and speed limit or increase signs along the route! I chose to use this analogy because there are times in life when all you have to do is wait on the Almighty. And just get more prayer done when you feel like a situation has triumphed over you. Simply put on the gear and switch it out. There are moments when we may feel as though the Lord is not seeing us, hearing us, or responding to our prayers. We can place all of our faith and belief in the living God at these times. Knowing that the Lord is with us and in charge of our lives allows us to wait on Him with great anticipation. He is going to fulfill his promise. He is going to save us. Even when we are not aware of Him, He is constantly at work for our good (Romans 8:28). Waiting on the Lord is something we can learn through prayer, seeking, active trusting, patience, and courage. When we wait on the Lord, we confidently anticipate a favorable outcome, for which we ...
