There is something powerful about allowing Jesus Christ to be the Author of your destiny. It means that your life is no longer guided by fear, people's opinions, rejection, disappointments, or the limitations of your circumstances. Instead, you choose to trust the One who knows the beginning and the end.
When Jesus is the Author of your destiny, your story is in the hands of someone who sees beyond what your eyes can see.
1. Your Life Is No Longer Defined by Your Past
People may remember your mistakes, failures, disappointments, and seasons of weakness. They may even use your past to determine what they believe you deserve.
But Jesus does not need your past to approve your future.
Consider the life of Apostle Paul. He once persecuted Christians, yet Jesus transformed his life and gave him a new purpose. His past did not disqualify him from fulfilling God's assignment.
When Jesus writes your story, your past does not have to become the final chapter.
2. Delays Do Not Mean Abandonment
One of the greatest challenges of walking with God is learning to trust Him when things are not happening according to your expectations.
You may pray, fast, believe, and remain faithful, yet still find yourself waiting.
Remember Joseph. He received dreams of greatness, but his journey included betrayal, slavery, false accusations, and imprisonment before he eventually became a ruler in Egypt.
Sometimes, the chapter you are struggling to understand is not the conclusion of your story.
3. People Cannot Determine What God Has Planned for You
When Jesus is the Author of your destiny, you must learn not to give people the authority to define your worth.
Some people may reject you, misunderstand you, underestimate your abilities, or refuse to recognise your potential.
But human rejection does not automatically mean divine rejection.
David was overlooked even within his own family when Samuel came to anoint the next king of Israel. Yet God saw something in David that others had failed to recognise.
Never measure your future exclusively by people's opinions.
4. God Can Bring Purpose Out of Difficult Seasons
Being a Christian does not mean you will never experience difficulties. It means you have someone to trust through those difficulties.
When we read Romans 8:28, it reminds us that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Notice that Scripture does not say everything that happens is good. Rather, it reminds us that God can bring good even out of painful circumstances.
Your disappointment does not have to destroy your purpose. Your setbacks do not have to become your identity.
5. You Learn to Surrender Control
When Jesus is the Author of your destiny, you stop demanding that everything happen according to your timetable.
You begin to understand that God's wisdom is greater than your limited understanding.
Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages believers to trust in the Lord with all their hearts and acknowledge Him in all their ways.
Sometimes, faith means taking the next step even when you cannot see the entire journey.
Let Jesus Write Your Story
Imagine handing an unfinished book to someone who already knows how the story ends.
That is what surrendering your destiny to Jesus represents.
You may not understand every chapter. You may encounter unexpected turns, unanswered questions, and seasons that require patience. But you can continue trusting God without allowing temporary circumstances to steal your hope.
Do not allow rejection to write your identity. Do not allow disappointment to write your future. Do not allow fear to become the narrator of your life.
If Jesus is the Author of your destiny, let Him have the final word over your story.
Your responsibility is to remain faithful, walk in obedience, grow in character, and trust Him with the chapters you have not yet read.
Hebrews 12:2: Jesus is described as the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, take the lead in my life. Teach me to trust Your plans, even when I cannot understand the process. Help me surrender my fears, disappointments, ambitions, and expectations to You. May my decisions reflect Your wisdom, and may my life bring glory to Your name. Amen.
